On the heels of the New Year, AV Concepts and Epson teamed-up once again to exhibit their 3D projection mapping display at CES.

The exhibit, which was originally showcased at InfoComm, demonstrates the power, resolution and diverse use of Epson’s Pro Projector Series via a three-dimensional, 16 foot-wide by 8 foot-tall skyline that creatively illustrated the projectors’ diverse capabilities.

The skyline, which was designed in close conjunction with Epson in our San Diego Center for Innovation—a 30,000 square foot studio where we prototype custom event builds for clients and test new experiential marketing technologies—used 12 Epson projectors (8 Pro G for the rear screen and 4 Pro Z for the cityscape) for a total of 88,000 lumens of projection.

Dedicated to showing the range of the projectors, AV Concepts designed a three-minute loop of Las Vegas inspired content full of imagination—including an alien invasion which incinerated the city with a fiery explosion as part of the grand finale! Leveraging our patented Liquid Scenic® servers, AV Concepts was able to push 1080p of uncompressed, high-definition video to seamlessly blend across the complex curvatures of the display.

A recent Exhibitor Magazine Marketing Technology Survey revealed that 86% of respondents said they used technology to enhance their exhibits in 2014[1]. And in the massive CES expo hall, it was easy to see why successfully leveraging event technology, like the Epson Pro Projector Series skyline, can help exhibitors think outside-the-box, creating vibrant, interactive displays that drive product engagement and show floor traffic.
