American Music Awards 2011

Projection Mapping at American Music Awards

After an initial meeting with Chris Brown and his team, AV Concepts worked on the creative concept with Rich & Tone productions conceptualizing visuals to be projected and mapped precisely to Chris’s performance at the American Music Awards. Using 72,000 lumens of projection surrounding Chris from floor to ceiling, AV Concepts utilized their highly sophisticated Liquid Scenic server for mapping and playback. The projection and band set-up rolled out in five minutes onto the American Music Awards stage during a commercial break just before Chris performed. In addition to the special projectable floor that Chris danced on, there were overhead camera’s that were place above the stage to capture the performance from multiple positions. Though undetectable by the audience, there were both real-life and virtual back-up dancers simultaneously on stage.
